The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released CBSE Scholarship for Single Girl Child 2024. CBSE Scholarship For Single Girl Child 2024 Application Form
Central Board of Secondary Education started the Single Girl Child Scholarship scheme in 2006. The main objective of this scholarship scheme is to recognize the efforts of parents to promote education among girls and provide encouragement to meritorious students. Under this scholarship, the girl students who have passed class 10 examination from CBSE affiliated schools can apply for this scholarship. If students are selected, they will get Rs. 500 per month. This scholarship will be provided to the students for 2 years and the distribution of the amount will be made through online mode.

The objective of CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents; and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with 60% or more marks and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII. CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria is important for all the students to follow. As it is very important to be eligible to apply online.
- The single girl child who wants to apply for the scholarship should be an Indian.
- She must be from CBSE affiliated school while studying in Class 10 and continue to study in CBSE board while pursuing education in Class 11 and 12.
- She should score at least 60% in her Class 10 exam.
- The cost of tuition fee should be less than Rs. 1,500 per month in Class 10
- When in +2 classes, the school fees should not have increased by more than 10% from that in class 10.
- She will need to produce an original affidavit duly attested by the First-Class Judicial Magistrate/ SDM/ Executive Magistrate/Notary as per the prescribed format available on the CBSE website.
NOTE: NRI applicants of the Board are also eligible for the award. The tuition fee for the NRIs has been decided maximum of Rs. 6,000/- per month.

- Students should have passed Class X Examination from the CBSE and secured 60% or more marks.
- Pursuing Class XI & XII from CBSE affiliated Schools.
- Students (Girl) should be ONLY CHILD of their parents.
- Original Affidavit duly attested by the First Class Judicial Magistrate/ SDM/ Executive Magistrate/Notary as per prescribed format available on the Board’s website. (Photocopy of Affidavit will not be accepted).
- Undertaking should be attested by the School Principal from where the student is pursuing Class XI after passing Class X from Board’s Examination.
- Tuition fees should not be more than Rs. 1,500/- per month in Class X and 10% enhancement for Class XI & XII.

Ans. Single Girl child means a girl who is the only child of their parents and there is no brother or sisters.
Q.4 I am single Girl in the family. I have one brother. Can I apply for scholarship under Single Girl Child Scheme?
Ans. No, As per definition of Single Girl Children you will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme as single Girl child are those girl children whose parents have only one girl child and there is no other siblings.
Q.5 I have received a cheque which has date expiring today only. How can I get a valid cheque?
Ans. Normally CBSE sends cheque through partner banks by post and chances of delay are not there. However in such a case you may send the cheque to CBSE scholarship branch for getting a valid cheque.
